Using Channel 2 (3.9 um) Imagery at Night, Part II

Channel 2 imagery can also be used for the creation of running minima of cloud-cleared images to help determine sea-surface temperatures (SSTs) at night. The image below depicts the running brightness minima of all the images in the previous Channel 2 loop, but with a different enhancement. In regions where the clouds were successfully cleared, the gradients in the SSTs can be seen clearly, with the orange colors representing temperatures between 20-30 degrees C.
