In comparison with other types of Cold Fronts the precipitation is often less, but especially during summertime it is difficult to make generalisations.

Parameter Description
Precipitation
  • Mostly slight to moderate precipitation at the rear side of the cloudband
  • In summer risk of embedded Cbs with thunderstorms and heavy rain
Temperature
  • Falls slowly after the passage of the front
Wind (incl. gusts)
  • Veering of the wind at the front passage
  • In summertime strong gusts possible
Other relevant information
  • Thunderstorms areless frequent than in classical Cold Fronts (= 1/3 of cases)
  • Risk of moderate to severe icing, turbulence and hail
  • Sometimes weak and decaying cloud bands: no significant weather
