CBs and MCS can best be presented using enhanced IR images. The image below shows convective cells over Italy with cold cloud top colour enhancement. The enhancement starts at -30°C and changes colour in steps of 5 degrees. Dark green or even blue patches within the bigger green areas indicate sub-cells with colder tops.
