Discussion
Many of the products you've selected are in fact being generated and used operationally today by weather services around the world, within the U.S. by the Alaska Region, and along coastal regions in the west and south.
e) is not a correct response since microwave rain rates are preferred for their greater accuracy. And f) is not correct
since the multispectral infrared approach provides the highest detection probability for both day and night. Ash plumes in
the visible can be easily mistaken for clouds and coverage is too infrequent to rely upon changes in plume features
for detection.
