GOES WV imagery and AMSU TPW are both beginning to indicate a southerly shift of the moisture plume. The 2 February 00 Z AVN also hints at this shift.

Remember that we expect to see differences between GOES WV and AMSU TPW. GOES WV imagery shows cloud and moisture features primarily at upper levels (above 500 mb), while the AMSU TPW depicts moisture patterns throughout the depth of the troposphere, even in the presence of clouds.
