Notice that both AVN and Eta model forecasts indicate that short wave # 2 moves rapidly eastward across southern B.C. during the period (09 to 21 Z) when most of the precipitation is expected to fall.

Based on the 00- to 09-Z (1-2 Feb) GOES WV imagery, however, short wave # 2 may indeed push farther south across northern Washington and at a somewhat faster pace. This scenario would suggest a more intense period of precipitation, but ending sooner than 21 Z as the models are depicting.
