Current plans are to incorporate temperature and moisture soundings from both NOAA and DMSP polar satellites into AWIPS Build 5.x. An online capability to preview and evaluate real-time POES soundings and derived products from the NOAA-15 satellite is currently available through the NESDIS-supported Polar Orbiting Satellite Sounding Evaluator (POSSE) system.
