A POES sounding was retrieved for this location despite the cloudy conditions using AMSU microwave sounder observations. Recall that the microwave channels are able to probe beneath cloud level except when moderate to heavy precipitation is present. A GOES sounding was not retrieved for this location since clouds hinder or even prevent infrared observation below cloud level.
