Both POES and GOES soundings were retrieved for this location under mostly clear conditions. Comparison with RAOB soundings at 12 and 00 UTC at nearby Medford shows that all soundings are in overall good agreement. RAOBs are indicating a drying of the middle troposphere between 12 and 00 UTC as a shortwave ridge builds along the coast. Notice that both GOES and POES soundings supported this trend several hours before the 00 UTC RAOB.
