Temperature and moisture profiles, cloud parameters, and infrared (HIRS ) and microwave (AMSU ) sounder measurements constitute the baseline POES sounding products. Profiles for clear and cloudy fields-of-view (FOVs) are available, with the latter not utilizing tropospheric HIRS data (infrared observations). Cloud parameters consist of cloud-top temperature, pressure, and amount.
