How to Begin
To begin, select a menu item from the
menu bar along the left side of the screen. (If no items appear on the menu bar, close this window and start the module again. The menu selections will appear.) When you do so, sub-menus and/or a page box may appear below the menu items if there is more than one page under that menu item. Click a sub-menu (if present) or
the Page Buttons to display the individual pages of a section.
If this is your first visit to this page, please wait until this page downloads fully
before continuing. This will ensure that the menu bar functions properly.
Pages Feature
Clicking the Pages button above the page number box (if present) will display all of the page titles in the current section. Use the Pages button to quickly go to a particular page within a section.
To navigate to another Web site, always return to the POES
Home Page first. In some browsers, navigating outside the site from within the module may
leave you without a scroll bar. The links in this module that go to other Web sites will launch in a separate window. Bookmarking Feature There is a bookmarking feature available in this module. It allows you to mark the current page and return to that page from elsewhere in the module. You may have multiple bookmarks as long as each bookmark is given a different name. If you wish to return to a page, click the Bookmark this Page button on the menu bar and follow the instructions. Acronym Explanation Acronyms specific to POES Soundings are either spelled out in the text
or followed by the book icon This site uses frames! Because this site uses frames, avoid using the Back and Forward functions of your browser. You should only use the menu bar or links embedded in the pages to navigate between pages and sections. Cache Settings It is strongly suggested that you empty your cache and
set the cache size to at least 6 MB or more before starting the
pre-load of graphics for this module. This will enable the graphics preload
feature to run properly. In Netscape, use the Edit menu and select Preferences,
Advanced, Cache. In Internet Explorer, use the Tools menu and select Internet
Options, General, Temporary Internet Files, Delete files. Important Information for Viewing this Module

The site has been tested and functions correctly when viewed with Netscape Navigator version 4.72 or higher and Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher.
