In this animation, a number of interesting features are seen as darkness falls across the image. Aside from the beautiful detail in the hurricane, notice how landmarks disappear due to increased scattering by haze, while clouds cast longer shadows on the ground as the sun sets. It is apparent from this loop that the difference in contrast between land and clouds decreases as sunset approaches. Different enhancements may be used to bring out detail that cannot be seen in this standard enhancement.
