An animation of GOES-8 6.7 micron water vapor channel imagery relative to the motion of a large-scale trough of low pressure

Often it is useful to animate water vapor imagery relative to an atmospheric feature of interest. In this animation, the trough moving across the southwest is held stationary, allowing the relative flow to be analyzed. Notice that many small-scale features associated with the trough are easily detected in this animation.
